The rule
Unit price = price divided by quantity.
Write the dollar sign on every unit price answer. If there is no dollar sign, you divided the wrong way.
The units have to match before you compare. 1 pound (lb) = 16 ounces (oz). To change pounds to ounces, multiply by 16.
Worked example: a 24 oz jar of sauce costs $2.29. $2.29 divided by 24 = $0.095 per oz.
