What the site is
Life Skills Arcade is a free Family and Consumer Sciences course for grades 6 to 8, written and run by one teacher. Every lesson, handout, slide and game is open to anyone with no account. A teacher account adds two things: the tests and answer keys, and a Class page where you can give your students usernames so their game scores are saved.
Who may make an account
Any teacher, tutor or school staff member may make a teacher account. Students may not. A student never signs up here; a teacher creates each student login from the Class page. If you are under 18, do not make an account.
What the site stores about you
Your email address, the name you type in (if any), the date you accepted these terms, and the names, codes and school years of the classes you make. Your password is held by the sign in service in hashed form; the site never sees it.
What the site stores about students
As little as possible, on purpose. For each student: a made up username such as facs-6a-17, a hashed PIN, the class the username belongs to, a count of failed sign ins, and the scores from games played while signed in (game, lesson, points, date). That is all. The site never asks for, and has nowhere to put, a student's name, email, photo, grade book entry or anything else that identifies a child. The list that says which student has which username is yours, on paper or in your own file. It never comes to this site.
Your school's rules come first
You are responsible for getting whatever approval your school, district or board requires before you give students usernames. Schools differ on what a student may sign in to, and only you know your school's rule. If your school says no, students can still play every game without signing in; scores then stay on the device and nothing is sent.
Keeping accounts safe
Keep your password to yourself. Hand out student PINs in a way that other students cannot read. Five wrong PIN tries lock a username; you reset it from the Class page. If you think a login has been shared, reset its PIN. Do not put a student's name into a class name, a code or anywhere else on the site.
Removing data
You can add and remove students in your own classes at any time. Removing a student removes that username and its scores. To close your teacher account and remove everything under it, write to me through the About page and I will do it within a few days.
What you may do with the course
Teach from it. Print it. Adapt the handouts for your own room. Do not sell it or pass it off as your own. Tests and answer keys are for teachers; do not post them where students can find them.
No promises
This is one teacher's site, offered as is, with no guarantee that it stays up, stays free of mistakes, or fits your school. I will fix what I can and keep it running as long as I can. If something breaks or looks wrong, tell me through the About page.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, the sign in page will say so and you will be asked to accept the new version before you add more students.
These terms were last changed on September 21, 2026.
