Reviews Lesson 6.11. Reviews Lesson 6.11, the basic and formal place setting from Handout 06.11 Parts 2 and 3, the three other ways to serve from Part 4, and the hosting basics from Part 5. Play it the day before Lesson 6.17, when students set 30 covers for real, and before the Cooking Methods Check, which has a place setting item. Round 1 is the basic setting and the four why questions; the why is the part that separates copying the picture from knowing the reason. Round 2 adds the formal pieces and the outside-in rule, which is the grade 8 stretch, so a grade 6 class can stop after round 1. The hosting questions use the four systems as four systems, not as exotic, and the feedback lines are the teacher key's. Room Designer is a different grid; this one is a table.

Set the Table
Tap a piece, then tap its cell on the place setting grid around the plate. Press CHECK and every piece in the right spot lights green. Then build the formal setting and answer the outside-in questions.

The ones to study:
Worth knowing by heart:
- A place setting is not a rule somebody made up to trap you. It is an order that follows how a meal actually happens, outside in, one course at a time.
- Every culture has a system, and every system exists so people get fed fairly.
- Our room: butter knives only, and only if the menu needs one.
