Reviews Lesson 5.19. Reviews Lesson 5.19 Day 1: the thirteen career cards from Handout 05.19 and the pathway sort. Round 1 reads the first line of each card and asks for the name, which is Objective 1 (match ten or more careers to what the person does). Round 2 is the pathway sort with the teacher key's placements; the key accepts more than one column for tailor, merchandiser, and quality inspector, so the feedback on those three says the most common way in and names the other route rather than calling the student wrong. It does not sort pitch lines or build a resume bullet; that is Pitch Perfect in Unit 7. Use it as the Day 2 do now in place of one game card if the Day 1 exit cards had a large needs-more pile, or send it home the night before the test. The card pictures follow the handout's own picture lines with no faces, so the tailor card shows the tape measure and the chalked jacket, not the person. Wage and outlook numbers are deliberately not in the game, for the reason the handout gives: they go out of date fast.

Job Cards
A card shows what a person does all day, with a picture. Tap the career from four names. Then a career card appears, and you tap it into one of three bins by the usual way in.
How to play
- Bins follow the teacher key for the pathway sort. The key accepts a career in more than one column if the student can defend it, and names tailor, merchandiser, and quality inspector as having more than one honest route in; the feedback line on those three says so.
Done
The ones to study:
Worth knowing by heart:
- The two that are commonly run as a small business: alterations specialist and upholsterer (tailor and dry cleaner also accepted with a reason).
- The one that most needs a science background: textile scientist.
- The ladder from here: practice at home; a summer or after-school job at a dry cleaner, a fabric store, a resale shop, or a costume shop; a high school CTE program in apparel, fashion, or design; then an apprenticeship, a certificate, or a degree.
- Handout 05.19 pages 1 and 2, the thirteen career cards
- The pathway sort teacher key: five on the job, two certificate or two-year, six four-year
- The five-repair portfolio: five photographed repairs or made items, each with one line saying what was wrong and what you did
